The workshop is for those venturing out on outdoor activities and interested in learning First Aid. 'Wilderness’ is defined as being an hour away from any definitive medical care. The course will focus on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) including MI, Angina & Stroke; Full Patient Assessment & Extended Care; Injury-Illness Identification & Management including: Bleeding Control, Shock, Spinal Injuries, Head Injuries, Chest Wounds, Sprains & Strains, Fractures & Dislocations, Splinting, Cold Injuries, Heat Illnesses, Lightning, Altitude Illnesses, Drowning, Anaphylaxis, Bites & Stings, Medical Illnesses, Wounds & Wound Management, Patient moves & Litter carries, Asthma, Diabetes, Abdominal Emergencies, Burns, Environmental Emergencies; Emergency Response Procedures, etc. It will also include 'tips' that contribute to making life in the outdoors more enjoyable and safer, checklists for planning an outdoor trip, etc.

Stories through Sound: World Percussion Instruments Workshop by Suchet Malhotra

An array of instruments—the west African djembe, middle-eastern darbouka, Brazilian rainstick, Australian didgeridoo, nature sounds (thunder, rain, ocean), forest sounds (frogs, crickets, birds), and a vast range of rhythmic percussion instruments (such as shakers and tambourines) allow participants to get their hands onto a wide variety of percussion while being able to relate the sounds to their own life experiences. Suchet Malhotra composes records, produces and performs music for dance, theatre, puppetry, animation and film projects.

5-Day Film Making Workshop by Samina Mishra

This 5-day workshop introduces participants to the language of visual storytelling and takes them through the steps of making a short film, from brainstorming ideas to shooting and editing. Participants are required to bring a simple camera (even phone cameras will do) and should have laptops with basic editing software, for example, iMovies or Filmora. The workshop will focus on concepts and narrative skill-building. Shooting will be done by the participants on non-workshop days.

The Long and Short of Haiku - a workshop by Kala Ramesh

In this 7-hour workshop by award winning poet Kala Ramesh, participants will be exposed to the 400-year- old art form from Japan, namely: haiku, senryu and haibun [tight prose embedded with haiku]. The work of Japanese masters and contemporary English-language haiku poets will be discussed along with the tools and the aesthetics involved in understanding these forms, including the subtle art of minimalism and brevity. The spotlight also falls on editing and imagery.
