IHC Lok Sangeet Sammelan. A two day festival celebrating Folk Music from Assam and Uttarakhand. An evening of Jagar, Jhoda, Chachari and Neoli performed by singer - songwriter, Darshan Faraswan. The folk songs of Uttarakhand have a deep connection with nature and the hilly terrain of the region. Common themes include the beauty of nature, various seasons, festivals, religious traditions, cultural practices, folk stories, history, mythology and love ballads.Traditional instruments like the Hudka, Dhol Damau, Turri, Mushak Been and Binai add a distinctive flavour to these melodies.

Featuring on both evenings, Tanishque Jarial, vocalist, composer, and co-founder of the cross-fusion band \'Pakshee\', along with The Kirori Mal Music Society, will captivate with a spirited folk performance, honouring the rich legacy of folk music.
