All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF). A festival showcasing climate stories and environmental narratives. Lullaby Of Waves (India/ Assamese/ 2023/ 15 mins) Dir. Ayon Pratim Saikia. A 53-year-old woman reflects on her 26-year marriage and 25 years of motherhood, focusing on her journey to find employment in Sadiya, a remote region in Assam accessible only by crossing the Brahmaputra River. As an outsider from the "Hiporiya" region, she faced hostility and threats but embraced her new life. The river shaped her experiences, leaving a bittersweet impact. The filmmaker, her son, explores their connection to Sadiya, grappling with questions of belonging and identity in a place that, despite being his birthplace, views them as outsiders. Abba (Italy/ Italian/ 2023/ 14 mins) Dir. Fabiana Lupo. What if humanity was forced to leave the planet as it had become inhospitable to life? What if two astronauts found themselves on a world similar to the one abandoned thousands of years earlier and had to come to terms with their barbaric past? A journey through the Universe in search of water, but basically a roundabout search for self. It is the extreme experience of the story's protagonist but, in the end, it is the everyday experience of human beings.
